Casa de Medina offers a stylish yet informal atmosphere - in the heart of historic hilltop town of Medina Sidonia. The aquamarine pool and sun terraces are perfect for unwinding on lazy, sunny afternoons whilst the comfortable lounge and cosy 'cave' invite guests to relax with a good book and glass of Fino!

Each of the bedrooms is beautifully and individually appointed, reflecting the owners' love of Mediterranean life. The soft cotton sheets, plump feather pillows, solid wood furniture and original prints work effortlessly with the attractively tiled en suite bathrooms.

On the ground floor the spacious dining room, well-equipped kitchen and relaxing lounge open on to the enchanting patio.

A double bedroom with en suite bathroom, two double bedroom and a twin bedroom - each with en suite shower, along with pool terrace and inviting heated pool make up the first floor.

The roof terrace offers panoramic views and overlooks a patchwork of undulating tiled roofs to rural splendour which is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean in the distance.

Local Area Details

Jerez is the nearest large town and is famous for it's sherry bodegas, dancing girls and horses! At least one day should be spent sampling the cellars of Sandeman, Domecq or Gonzalez Byass and a visit to Jerez would not be complete without a visit to 'Real Escuela Andaluza de Arte Equestre' to watch the magnificent Andaluz horses performing. Dinner in Jerez is a must too for those wishing to enjoy authentic Flamenco in one of the many tapas bars restaurants or indeed the 'Centro Andaluz de Flamenco'.

Cadiz - capital of the province and justifiably so - stunning architecture, fabulous location and begging to be explored. Days can easily be spent visiting the gold domed 'Cathedral Nueva', historical churches and museums, and eating delicous fresh fish before retiring to the golden sands of the city beach for a well earned siesta.

Chiclana is the nearest coastal town - the slightly jaded gandeur only highten's the pleasure of discovering Chiclana's beaches, La Barrosa and Novo Santi Petri being two of the most popular. Think wide swathes of white sand washed clean by the pounding Atlantic Ocean.

Conil is a simple town which offers great fish and a selection of superb beaches nearby, try the local delicacy (similar to Sea Bass) called 'Bocinegro' in a beachfront restaurant called 'La Chanka' in El Palmar, you will not be disappointed. Nor will you be disappointed with the unspoilt beaches!

Vejer is a slightly more touristy version of Medina Sidonia and on a clear day you can see the coast of Morocco. The Plaza de Espana, narrow, whitewashed streets and proximity to the main coast road makes Vejer a popular spot for day-trippers along the Costa de la Luz. Just a little further south is the fishing port of Barbate, the fresh Tuna is sublime as are many of the beaches bordering the adjacent 'Parque Natural de Barbate'.

Alcalá de los Gazules is a sleepy whitewashed, hilltop town although arguably less attractive than both Medina Sidonia and Vejer. It is however a gateway to the 'Parque Natural de los Alcornocales' which joins the 'Parque Natural Sierra de Grazalema'. These two areas offer unlimited possibilities to hikers, climbers, nature lovers and budding artists.

Arcos de la Frontera - an awesome setting for another 'frontier town'. Jerez, Chiclana, Conil and Vejer like many towns in the area are all correctly called de la Frontera, however they are fondly known by just their first name. Arcos de la Frontera deserves its full title to be used at all times, not least for the fact that it sits majestically on a cliff overlooking splendid countryside dotted with lakes. If you have anything wider than a Renault Clio, do not even attempt to negotiate some of the narrow streets. Some of the most challenging you will ever come across in Spain!
