La Cannelle is full of taditional features mixed with modern comfort and is set in a beautiful and peaceful part of the Lot. Less than 10 minutes from the Célé Valley the village of Blars is the perfect base for those wanting to explore, take part in all the outdoor activities to be found or just enjoy the peace and quiet. Accomodation includes 1 double bedroom with ensuite shower & WC and 2 single rooms plus separate bathroom & WC. Large lounge diner and fully equiped kitchen leading onto stone walled enclosed terrace.
This charming cottage is very spacious and would comfortably hold more than the 4 people we consider it suitable for (and the number we provide for) and is suitable for pets as well. Downstairs are the 2 single bedrooms leading off the large lounge/diner with tradional fireplace with pretty kitchen at the other end of the house. From the kitchen lead the stairs to the upper level where you will find the modern bathroom and also the master bedroom with its own ensuite shower room & WC. A great feature of the master bedroom is that it has a second door leading out onto its own small shady veranda! To the right of the house is the enclosed terrace accessed from the outside or through the kitchen and this was istself an entire house until its roof collapsed and previous owners removed all the debris to leave the 7ft high stone walls, flagstone floors, impressive stone chimney and old stone windows - a perfect, private place full of sun and colour. BBQ and patio furniture are provided.

Local Area Details

Whilst Blars no longer has its own shop, boulangeries and small grocers can be found in Marcillac just 6 miles away and we do have a bread van that passes by 3 days a week, a fish van and also a meat van once a week.
There is no shortage of things to do and places to go around here! The Lot is incredibly beautiful and full of medievel towns and villages bursting with history and charm. The area is crossed by several rivers (Célé, Lot, Aveyron and Tarn) which have gourged their way through the land carving deep, lush, valleys with high rocky walls in contrast to the dryer, stony causes and these rivers are a focus for those wanting to canoe, swim or cave dive. For those interested in prehistoric caves we have Lacave, Pech Merle, Foissac or Gouffre de Padirac. Most of the local towns have colourful, weekly markets that are always popular with visitors as are the more touristy hilltop and cliffside towns of St Cirq Lapopie, Rocamadour and Cordes sur Ciel - all well worth a visit! From a personal point of view we think you would be hard pushed to find an area prettier than the Célé and the Lot valleys and for walkers and cyclists (especially mountain bikers) and horse riders this is paradise!
