The Lance Castle is a pretty village house built of mellow stone and set in the tiny hilltop village of Lanciole and formed from part of a huge stone building dating back to the 1200's - and which a Ghibelline castle. The Village lies in the hills to the north of Pescia and Montecatini - a very picturesque area ideal for touring or relaxing in delightful surroundings. The property itself is full character with a cosy cottage feel where you will feel really "at home".The area makes a good base for touring being within easy driving distance of many famous places including Lucca, Pisa and Florence. The property is a picturesque 70 square metres apartment, just restored to offer comfortable and warm hospitality.
It is also a wonderful place to stay, (six hundred metres above sea level) with the opportunity of nice walks in the surrounding woodland,horse riding, fishing, playing tennis orlazing on the beach of Viareggio sea (40 minutes driving).

The property is reached up stone steps leading to a delightful terrace which has outstanding views to the surrounding woodland. The entrance from the church historical side into an original sitting-room with a ceramic stove, stone floor and walls, a beautiful culumn with family coats of arms, sofa, satellite TV and look a side to the woodland and the other to the church side.
The adjacent Kitchen country-modern (gas hob, electric oven, fridge/freezer, dish-washer, beamed ceiling )look to the surrounding area.
A 1700 door from the kitchen leads into a small original bathroom, with old tub with feet, basin and wc, the window look to the church side.
Open tread stairs from the kitchen lead to a first floor.
A double room (liberty bed and a wardrobe) look to the surrounding woodland and to the ancient rival hamlet in front, beamed ceiling and antique terracotta floor.
Furnishings throughout are tastefully rustic with additional antique pieces. It is also the only house in the village having a terraced garden (600 square m.), with independent entrance, private barbeque garden features and a small above ground pool (7mx4m)

Local Area Details

This medieval little village, lies in a very good and strategic position between Lucca and Pistoia, in the hills to the north of Pescia and Montecatini, in "Pesciatina Switzerland" so called for its woods and little nice medieval villages all around.
The village has a bar/pizzeria selling also few basic foodstuffs.
In few minutes driving you are in the main sightseeing towns: Florence 40/50 minutes, Pisa 25/30 minutes, Lucca 25/30 minutes, Siena and Arezzo 1 hour 15/20, Pisotia 30 minutes, Montecati's Spa and golf at 20 minutes.
