East Liscombe Farm benefits from a remote setting in the idyllic countryside of the Southwest, just on the Devon/Somerset border. Anstey Mills Cottage is a recently converted spacious farmhouse building adjoining our 16th century Devon Longhouse.
Accommodation
The traditional farmstead dates back in parts to the 13th century. One end of the Devon Longhouse has been converted into a spacious and comfortable holiday home. It is an ideal place for families with children as they have ample space to run about and they are easily able to entertain themselves outside, unrestricted by traffic. Our visitors appreciate the calm and quietness at East Liscombe.
The Grade II listed cottage - boasting ancient beams and exposed stonework - a large, well fitted farmhouse kitchen with huge table to accommodate more guests (this place is ideal for families), a spacious and cosy sitting room with excellent wood-burning stove and a utility room, WC and shower next to the entrance hall.
You will enjoy the comforts and peace of this home from home: On the first floor we have 3 spacious bedrooms (1 en-suite with 5' 4 poster bed), another with double bed and futon (for child) and one twin-bedded room - and a bathroom/WC (bidet and shower over bath). A landing door leads across a small bridge to a large enclosed garden and patio. The Cottage sleeps 7+ 2 cots

The former farm is situated on a remote bridleway on the edge of Exmoor National Park, within easy reach of both coasts. Just 3 miles from the small town Dulverton (where you get everything from a post office, small supermarket, antiques shops, second hand book shop to excellent cafes, butcher and greengrocer with delicatessen) you find us well placed for walking, cycling (on Sustrans' Cycle route No. 3), bird watching, riding (near 2 riding stables), fishing, golf and close to Minehead, South Molton and Tiverton (16 miles) for Exeter, Taunton and Barnstaple for shopping, antiques and many more attractions. National Trust properties and beautiful gardens are easily accessible. This is indeed the perfect base for seeing lots of the West Country; even the Eden Project is only 2 hours door to door.
