The area is well served with shops and an interesting variety of eating places at Sennen, St Buryan, St Just, Lamorna and Penzance.
Among the attractions locally are Lands End, challenging golf courses, superb surfing beaches, sea fishing, pony trekking on the moors and unrivalled bird watching.

The area is particularly suited to birdwatching as it is the first and last land fall for migratory birds. Nanjizal bay being directly under the main migratory route. The area is also renowned for the occurrence of rare sightings.
