Situated in a tranquil lane in the centre of Honfleur, close to Saint Leonard’s church. The cottage has a modern well-equipped fitted kitchen. Comfortable living room, delightful double and single bedrooms, shower and WC, and a courtyard for relaxing and outdoor dining. The upstairs double bedroom has its own washbasin. The adjoining single bedroom can be used as an additional sitting room.
Each room has its own CD player and radio. The living room has a television with only French channels but plays all videos.

The cottage is in a narrow lane with no traffic, but you can load and unload outside and there is free parking around the corner. It is a couple of minutes walk to the old harbour, many restaurants and the Saturday market.

Local Area Details

Honfleur is a picturesque, medieval little town on the sea and the Seine. It is a delightful destination at any time of the year. The renowned and much photographed 17th century enclosed vieux bassin (old harbour) is the focal point of the town, with its outdoor restaurants, along with the old wooden church in Place Saint Catherine. There are many walks and promenades out to the beach and the sea, and the Seine is dominated by the Pont de Normandie, a stylish cantilever bridge linking Upper and Lower Normandy. There is a swimming pool, tennis, mini golf and a Naturospace. There is a busy Saturday market and an organic market on Wednesdays.
Honfleur is the birth place of composer, Erik Satie, and the painter Eugene Boudin, and beloved of impressionist painters, who stayed in the local hostelry of Ferme Saint Simeon (now a luxury hotel!). Painter, Raoul Dufy was born across the river in Le Havre and many of his paintings are to be found in the museum there. Honfleur has several museums, and is still the home of many artists and galleries.
The lovely seaside resorts of Trouville and Deauville are very close and there is golf, polo and horse racing (and trading) in Deauville. Honfleur is in the Pays d’Auge region of Calvados, famous for its cider, calvados (apple brandy) and cheese. The towns of Camembert and Pont l’Eveque are included in the cheese and apple routes. Rouen is around 50 miles away. Normandy landing beaches are near Caen.
