Situated off a quiet country lane, this pretty 5-bedroomed villa nestles peacefully in one and half acres of enclosed gently terraced gardens. Surrounded by mature pines and oak woods which offer privacy and natural shade, the villa has a private pool and south facing paved sun terraces.

The property enjoys good access (no long drives up unmade roads!); it's less than 1 hour from Nice Airport, 15 minutes from Autoroute A8, and 10 minutes from Les Arcs SNCF rail station (4 hours to Paris by TGV).

The villa is a private home and very much loved and enjoyed by its owners. It is beautifully finished with local Salerne floor tiles and has a welcoming and comfortable interior with a traditional fireplace for off-season periods.

The downstairs kingsize, double, twin +1 bedrooms, and the living room each have French doors opening on to sun terraces running the length of the villa. Upstairs there is a double bedroom which opens on to a south-facing balcony and another twin bedroom. The two family bathrooms have separate WCs, and the ensuite shower room (attached to downstairs double) also includes WC.

The well appointed kitchen has a breakfast table, fitted oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and adjacent is a utility room with washing and dryer machines. The 40m2 living room is well furnished with large/extending dining table and comfortable sofas, and adjacent is the TV lounge which is equipped with satellite TV, DVD, Hi-fi and video (UK TV & radio is receivable).

The large covered patio with table and chairs and purpose built barbecue provides ideal al fresco eating. The nearby 8m x 4m pool (depth from 0.9m to 2m, with underwater floodlights, and 'roman' steps at one end) is adjoined by an extensive paved area with a giant hanging parasol, sunloungers and chairs for 10, drinks trolley and large table.

A boules court, table tennis, swing, badminton are also provided. The gardens are secured by perimeter fencing and large lockable entrance gates, allowing children to play and cycle in safety. The gardens can be lit at night.

Local Area Details

Lorgues is situated in the centre of Provence; it is a beautiful area set between the mountains and the Mediterranean Sea, and superb for touring. There are many nearby historic villages to visit all with something of interest, and interesting chateaux, abbeys, wine domaines, art exhibitions to visit.

The Gorges du Verdon, the French Grand Canyon, and Lake St Croix offer swimming, walking, sailing and windsurfing in breathtaking scenery only 45 miuntes away, while the beaches and lively mediterranean resorts at Sainte Maxime, and Saint Tropez are an easy 30 minutes drive south.

Lorgues is a medieval village dating from Roman times and dominated by its early 18th Century Church. The renowned truffle restaurant Chez Bruno is a short drive away and there are numerous gastronomic experiences and wine tasting cellars within easy reach. Shopping: The two nearest hypermarkets are at Draguignan & Trans en Provence. There are markets at Aups (Wed & Sat), Lorgues (Tues) & Salernes (Sun). There is a very large Sunday Provencal market at Le Muy by the autoroute (A8).

Rental includes welcome food and drinks (except during low season), electricity (except during low season), and house cleaning at the end of your stay. Bed linen and in-house towels are provided but there is a laundry charge of 10 Euros per person. Discount for 2 week bookings in mid and high season. However, to compensate for extra 'wear & tear' a 50 Euro charge per additional adult is made for large parties with more than 6 adults. Price in currencies other than Euros will be based on prevailing rates of exchange at time of booking. Local English caretakers who are happy to advise you during your stay. They meet and greet between 16.00 and 18.00 preferably, but can accommodate later arrivals (there may be an extra charge if very late).
