Property Details

El Atico is a romantic attic flat in the historic old town of Ronda. This enchanting flat is in a renovated town house in the fascinating historic heart of Ronda with all this lively town's sights, restaurants and shops within easy walking distance. Although so central, the flat has been lovingly decorated with bright colours, wood and terracotta to echo the cosy simplicity of rural Andalucian homes. From the terrace you can enjoy views across the rooftops to the mountains of the Sierra De Las Nieves, which turn pink in the setting sun and then glow grey in the moonlight or starlight of a warm summer's evening. This pied-a-terre provides the perfect base for exploring Ronda and the breathtakingly beautiful mountain countryside peppered with picturesque white villages all around, be it on foot, by car or bicycle.

Amenities/Facilities provided

hob oven fridge washing machine
iron/ironing board barbecue pets accepted

Outside
There is a small sunning terrace with plants and the log-store for the wood-burning stove. It looks out across traditional rooftops of Ronda and on to the mountains of the Sierre de las Nieves. There is a small wicker table and two wicker chairs and you can take out others to enjoy a peaceful meal or drink outside. Although in the centre of Ronda you are high up from road traffic at the level of swallows wheeling. There is a simple barbecue available for use on the terrace.

Coast/Beach
If you draw a triangle from the Atlantic Coast to the west of Gibraltar and the Mediterranean around Malaga and come in land you reach Ronda. As it is you can be at the unspoilt sandy beaches of the windy and wilder Atlantic in about 1.5 hours (a journey through stunning countryside) and you can reach the busier cosmopolitan family or luxury resorts of the Mediterranean in just over 1 hour from Ronda. Either are perfect for a day out.

Golf
There are golf courses at the Mediterranean Costa del Sol - about a 1 hour drive from Ronda. So golfing is an easy day trip from the flat.

Skiing
If you want to ski you will need to drive along the coast into Granada province and into the mountains. This isn't too easy as a day trip from Ronda (though in theory it is possible) but is an idea if you go for a 1 night break and return to Ronda afterwards or add on a day or so at the beginning or end of your holiday.

Travel
Ronda is well served by several airports with Malaga Gibraltar, Jerez and Seville all about 1.5 hours drive from Ronda. Airlines using these include EasyJet, BA, Iberian, Monarch Crown, Ryan Air, British Midland etc. It is worth checking on all websites to find good prices to any of the airports -though Malaga is usually the easiest entry point.
Rent a car at the airport or take a bus or train inland to Ronda and hire a car in the town.
