Property Details
The holiday homes are quietly situated in a communal garden situation. The victorian building was once the town's cottage hospital. You can easily walk into town for shops, restaurants, cinema, leisure facilites etc.
Our homes are well equipped with everything you would need for your holiday. All linen and towels are provided. At the rear of the properties there is a small patio with garden furniture.
The lounge contains a sofabed and chairs and also dining furniture and TV. The kitchens are fully equipped with fridge/freezer, microwave, washer/dryer etc. Bathrooms have a full bath as well as an electric shower over. Local Area DetailsThe town is half way between London and Cambridge and it is easy to reach either city by train. There is also a line out to the airport (Stansted) . Locally, Duxford air museum is a big draw and is a full day out. Henry Moores sculpture garden is about 5 miles away. The river Stort flows through the town and there are many pleasant walks along the banks or to nearly villages.
Additional InformationAbout ParksThe town has a nice park through which the river flows. It also has a childrens play area. There is still a large grass mound here --the remains of the Norman Waytemore castle. Its a pleasant place to sit in sunny weather.
About Local AttrcationsThursday is market day in Bishops Stortford and the town is really lively. People come in from all the surrounding villages. At one time they would have come for the cattle and produce markets but they have gone now. However, there is still a wonderful market that stretches from one end of the town to the other--well worth a browse.
About HistoryBishops Stortford is a very old market town. Horse drawn coaches stopped here overnight on their way from London to Cambridge, so there are still black and white coaching inns in the town.
