In addition to the chambre d'hotes at Les Juliannes there is also a gite which can take up to 10. On the ground floor there's a double bedroom and another with twin beds plus a bathroom and wc. On the first floor there's a living room and dining room, with an open fire and kitchen, a twin bed room and another with four beds. There's also a washroom and WC. Included is , a washing machine, dishwasher, colour TV, freezer and garage (plus possibility of a cot and everything you need for a baby, please book when reserving, no extra charge)

Local Area Details

It is an amazing countryside of wild rocky outcrops and deep forests which frame the small fields and pastures of local hill farms. Narrow winding valleys are covered with oaks and sweet chestnuts that open to reveal massive outcrops of quartz. The region is dominated by the production of sheep's milk used to make the Roquefort cheese in nearby caves. At Les Juliannes and La Garrigue you overlook the Gorges de l'Oulas which was for centuries protected by the dominating presence of the Chateau de Paulin. The gorge is an amazing nature reserve with deer and wild boar in the woods and an array of birds of prey wheeling overhead. And there is no better way to see this from horseback or on foot. Walks and hacks start at the end of the drive and take you deeper into the calm of this beautiful countryside. The long distance footpath (GR36) will take you from here to Sidobre and on to the edge of Castres with its astonishing forest. Your hosts Nick, an Englishman transplanted to France, and Marie Christine live at Les Juliannes and will do everything they to help you enjoy the rural charm of the region.

About Local Attrcations

We are in the heart of the Var and as such well situated for exploring not only the coastline but also the historical and cultural sites. We are situated in the centre of the Cotes de Provence AOC area , and as such there are many wineries and domaines to visit (and taste!). Local cheese farms and olive oil mills complete the culinary tour.

About Airport Information

We are equidistant between Nice , Marseilles and Toulon airports , approx driving time is +/- 1 hour , the only variations are on car rental pick up time which can vary enormously(up to 2 hours!!) , check with us for details

About Weather/Climate/Temperature

Typical mediterranean climate but due to our location, never too hot even in peak summer. Best times to visit are May and September , rainy months November and March.

Closest beaches are at ste. Maxime, but also easy access to st Tropez and ste Aygulf

About Golfing

Many stunning local golf courses: ste Endreol , Barbaroux,ste Maxime,Taulane.We run golf breaks off season , but always have discounts available for our guests at all the local courses
