“Traneen� is finished to a very high spec, consisting of 2 double bedrooms – one en-suite, 2 twin rooms – one en-suite, and main bathroom with Jacuzzi bath. The house contains a fully fitted kitchen, dining room, dishwasher, microwave, oven & hob, fridge & freezer, washing machine & tumble dryer, colour television, DVD, surround sound, cot & high chair. Towels and bed linen are supplied.
Local Area DetailsCastletownbere is the main town within the Beara Peninsula and is the largest white fish port in Ireland. Here you can relax and enjoy this scenic fishing town, watch the local trawlers unload their daily catch, take a ferry trip to Bere Island or enjoy a round of golf in the nearby Berhaven Golf Course.
Probably the best way to enjoy the particular beauty of the Beara Peninsula is by walking the Beara Way. This clearly marked and mapped route covers the most magnificent villages and islands of the area – the quaint villages of Eyeries and Ardgroom, the old mining village of Allihies and the spectacular islands of Dursey and Bere Island.
Dunboy Castle ~ once castle home of the famous O’Sullivan-Bere family, who led the great march North to Leitrim in 1602. A separate large ruin was the home of the Puxleys, the owners of the Allihies Copper mine.
Eyeries Village ~ this village has beautifully painted houses and flower displays on nearly every window. Parts of the television series 'Falling For a Dancer' were shot here in 1997.
Ardgroom ~ close to Glenbeg & Derryvegal lakes, both of which provide good trout fishing. Nearby is a stone circle, one of the many archaeological sites on the peninsula.
