100 rue Trivalle is located in a superb position and is your Gateway to Carcassonne and the surrounding area. An attractive, cosy, traditional town house, for 4 persons, in a street of terraced houses. Located in the medieval city (La Cite) of Carcassonne, just under the towering walls of the Cite Medieval (a World Heritage site). The house has been tastefully furnished and is fully equipped for a relaxed holiday.

There is a living room, kitchen/diner,lovely courtyard/terrace, large shower room/toilet, 2 bedrroms.


If you prefer to eat at home you can purchase your food at the Hypermarkets situated in the industrial zones on the outskirts of the city. They are all very good but the quality and prices do vary slightly. Alternatively the general stores, on the left hand side of rue Trivalle walking towards the Bastide, have a very good stock of supplies.

Leisure Activities
There is a lake within 10 minutes drive in very nice surroundings where you can swim, sail, sunbathe and relax. The beach at Narbonne Plage and Grussian is about 50 minutes drive. You can cycle along the Canal du Midi or just visit the many ancient villages, towns and castles in the area.

Facilities in the property
Our house is centrally located in the medieval city (La Cite), just under the towering walls of the Cite Medievale (a World Heritage site). It is a typical French town house in a street of terraced houses. The Bastide (later town) is only 12 minutes walk over the old bridge where there are many restaurants, shops and a market 3 times a week. The house has tiled floors throughout and is furnished in French style. Electric convector heaters provide warmth in the cooler months. Parking is available “on street� outside of the house.

Living Room - with HiFi system (radio, CD & tapes), DVD player & viewer, games and books.

Dining Room/Kitchen - The Living Room leads into the Dining Room and Kitchen.

Courtyard - From there, you have access to a large tiled courtyard, which is filled with many colourful plants. For chilling out, sunloungers with comfortable cushions, are also provided. So that you can enjoy the ambience of outdoor dining “al fresco“, an outdoor (electric) grill), a sun canopy, table and chairs are also provided.

2 Bedrooms - The polished wooden staircase leads to two double bedrooms. The main bedroom overlooks the street and the room at the rear looks out onto the walls of the medieval city.

There is a cot for a baby with mattress sheet only, together with 2 child’s sleeping bags, one for 84 cm (2 tog) and one for 103 cm (no tog).



Shower Room / W.C. - A shower room, including a washing machine, with wash hand basin and toilet is on the ground floor and is accessed from the staircase area.

Booking deposits: 50% on booking directly into our bank.

Balance of payment is due 8 weeks before arrival directly into our bank - see website



Cancellation charges:

More than 8 weeks prior to arrival – 10% of total rental to cover administration

4-8 weeks prior to arrival - 50% of total rental rate I.e. deposit

2-4 weeks prior to arrival - 75% of total rental rate

Less than 2 weeks prior to arrival - 100% of total rental rate.



Arrival and departure times: Change over day is Saturday – Arrive at 4 pm and depart at 10am.



What is included in the rental rates:

Electricity – Convector Heaters (if you need to use the heating during your visit please ensure that the heaters are turned off when you are out of the house).



Gas (spare bottle provided – if you use this please leave a note so that it can be renewed). Local telephone calls, bed linen, towels (please provide your own towel for swimming/sun bathing). Use of ‘food store cupboard’ – please replace anything that you finish.



A deposit of 50% of the total rental will secure your reservation.

The balance is due 8 weeks prior to the first day of your stay and must be received into our bank account BEFORE that date.

Local Area Details

There are many historical towns within easy driving distance of the house and the coast is only 45 minutes away. To eat out is as simple as A, B C. The nearest restaurant is only one minute’s walk and there are many more within easy walking distance � and you do not have to break the bank to do it!

All amenities are “on the doorstep� including a boulangerie/patissierie, general store, bars, restaurants, and the markets about 12 minutes walk. The La Cite, with more bars and restaurants, is 10 minutes walk as is the Bastide with a wide selection of modern and traditional shops for all goods. There is also free local transport between La Cite, nearby, and Bastide St Louis during the main tourist season.

There are many places to visit in the area, apart from Carcassonne which is a “must�, including Beziers, Pezanas (for antiques), Perpignan, Montpellier, the vineyards of Minervois and Corbierres, the Montagne Noir (30 minutes away), the Pyrenees of the Ariege and Andorra (for skiing, walking and climbing), and of course the beach is less than one hour away at Narbonne (Leucate Plage, Gruissan Plage, Narbonne Plage), to name just a few places.

There are daily flights by Ryanair from Stansted, UK to Carcassonne and
Montpelier; also from Brussels to Carcassonne. In addition, there are flights by
British European, British Airways and Air France to Toulouse and Montpellier from London Heathrow and Regional Airports such as Birmingham.
