Valentines is a traditional Bahamian home in the village of Hope Town on one of the outer islands of the Bahams. Fully equipped with all modern conveniences the house is close to all island amenities, within 50 feet of the lagoon harbour and less than 1 minute away from the main Atlantic beach. Panelled in cyprus with full air conditioning for the summer months. Accomodation comprises three bedrooms, 1 queen, 1 twin and a bunk room, two bathrooms with showers, an upstairs living room with access to a large upper deck and top deck with magnificent views across the harbour.

Local Area Details

Hope Town is a small village on the island of Elbow Cay, with 8ft wide main roads and even smaller 3ft side roads the village is free of tourist traffic and every facility is within easy walking distance. The island itself is some four miles by less than a mile and sits between the Atlantic and the Sea of Abaco, a 20 mile long inner lagoon that boasts numerous uninhabited small islands and pristine beaches. Coral reefs, for fishing , snorkelling and diving. Available facilities include a number of bars and restaurants, self drive boat hire, sailing, deep sea fishing, bone fishing.

Average daily temperatures range from 80 degrees during the day down to 60 degrees at night during the cooler months, November to May and up to 90 degrees in July, August and September.

About Fishing

Abaco is famous for its big game and bone fishing, hosting several international fishing tournaments throughout the year. Typical species are tuna, marlin , wahoo, dolphin (the fish), grouper, spanish makerel and baracuda, as well as numerous others.
