A two-bedroom cottage with private patio on two floors. The open kitchen/dining area and a sitting room are downstairs. Upstairs there is a double room (en-suite shower) and a twin room (en-suite bathroom).

Local Area Details

In the tiny village of Old Byland, just off the village green, is Valley View Farm looking out over the beautiful countryside of North Yorkshire. Under the farm fields lie the ruins of the old Byland Abbey; in the farmhouse Sally welcomes guests, as she always has done, with tea and homemade cakes.

This is the beginning of a farmhouse holiday, with breakfast cooked by Sally on the Aga, peace and quiet, and all the delights that North Yorkshire has to offer.

Whether your taste is walking (there is a leaflet with farm walks to start you off), the seaside and fish & chips, culture (Castle Howard and the National Railway Museum in York for contrast), or golf or pony trekking or swimming - nothing is too far away. You will get old-fashioned service in the very good small shops in Helmsley and there is a busy local market on Fridays.

You can stay in the farmhouse, where there is a dining room and lounge with open fire, or in one of the holiday cottages round the small courtyard next to the farmhouse.
